IGNOU Re-registration 2025 Closed

New Delhi, 30 June 2025: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has officially closed the re-registration process for the July 2025 academic session. The final date to apply was set to 30 June 2025. However, IGNOU has now extended the last date to 15 July 2025, allowing students more time to complete the process. This process was meant for existing students who are already studying at IGNOU and need to register for the next semester or year to continue their studies without any break. Students can apply through the official website of the university ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.

IGNOU started the re-registration process in May and conducted it completely online through the official Samarth portal. Students had to log in using their enrollment number, select their preferred subjects or courses for the next term, and pay the fees online. The university provided several payment options, including net banking, UPI, debit/credit cards, and BHIM. After successfully making the payment, IGNOU advised students to download and keep the confirmation receipt for future reference.

IGNOU has regularly reminded students to complete the IGNOU re-registration 2025 before the deadline to avoid any academic issues. IGNOU will not allow students who did not re-register to submit assignments or appear in exams for the upcoming term. This may negatively impact their academic progress.

Some students waited until the last moment for the IGNOU admission 2025, hoping for an extension. In previous years, IGNOU has sometimes extended the deadline with a late fee. However, for this session, IGNOU did not announce any extension, and it closed the portal after 15 July 2025. This means students who missed the deadline may have to wait until the next session to continue their studies.

At the same time, IGNOU also opened fresh admissions for new students for the July 2025 session. So, while new students can still apply, existing students who did not re-register on time may miss their chance to continue this term.
